Taking the avenge of their previous six-wicket defeat in the ongoing Indian Primer League (IPL), Deccan Chargers yesterday finished the trim hopes of Pune Warriors to qualify for the next round by defeating them with the same margin..
The disappointed skipper of Pune Yuvraj Singh has held his batsman responsible for early exit and said that they have to play for pride in their remaining two matches of the tournament.
“We had to win all three but unfortunately nothing went our way. The batters let the team down again. No point in saying we are a better team than we looked, you have to perform,” Yuvraj said.
Some youngsters will get a chance and some overseas players. Now we have to play for pride,” left-hander added.
Pune Warriors, which is currently present on the second last position in the points table, can win only 4 games out of 12, they have played so far while they had to face defeat in 8 matches.
Warriors will play their remaining two games against Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils on May 19 and May 21 respectively.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, and Kolkata Knight Riders are four strong contestants to qualify for the play-offs.
