Flamboyant batsman Chris Gayle has been left out of the West Indies squad for the T20 and the first two one-day internationals against India.
West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has solicited the 30-year-old to emerge before to the selection committee and the team management in view of his annotations against the country board during the home series against Pakistan last month.
According to the WICB statement released on Monday:
“Chris Gayle will not be considered for selection to the West Indies team before an intended meeting with himself, the selection committee, the WICB management and the West Indies team management,“
“The selection committee views this meeting as necessary as a result of Gayle’s comments in a widely publicized radio interview in Jamaica.”
He was not elected for the precluding squad for series against Pakistan due to injury. The batsman, conversely, assert that he was plunge. After which he went to play for Indian Primer League (IPL).
All-rounder Kieron Pollard has been evoked while pacer Kemar Roach has been given the rest. Uncapped Jamaican left-arm seamier Krishmar Santokie is the solitary change in the T20 squad which conquered Pakistan in St Lucia in last month.
