ICC has accepted the demand of associate members and has given the decision to include 14 teams for the World Cup 2015. In response, the number of teams for T20 World Cups 2012 and 2014 has been reduced from 16 to 12, while in World Cup 2019 the number of participants will be 10. Top eight rank sides will get place in the event directly and qualifying round will be played for rest of the two positions.
ICC Executive Board has also approved the compulsory use of UARD in the future tour program as well as in the one day international. The incentive of Referral System will not be available in the T20 internationals. The ranking of this format will also be introduced in October. The player who will move backward to prevent run-out will be declared as out. The facility of runner has also been ended for trio formats of the game.
According to details the associate members of ICC have forced the ICC to accept their demands. On the inaugural day of the two-day session of ICC, in Hong Kong, the Executive board has annulled its former decision about reducing the number of teams for the World Cup 2015. It is to be remembered that ICC had decided to confine the up-coming World Cup to 10 teams only, the full members of ICC. This decision resented the associate members a lot and they resisted and forced ICC to take its decision back.
