Ahmed Shehzad’s onslaught followed by bowlers which steered Lahore Lions to kick-out Hyderabad Hawks from Faisal Bank Super Eight T20 tournament with sensational 8 runs defeat in the final pool match of the event, played at Iqbal Stadium Faisalabad on Wednesday. Setting a target of 161 runs, Lions restricted Hawks to 152. Lahore Lions will take on Rawalpindi Rams in the first semi-final on Thursday (today).

According to details Lahore Lions won the toss and elected to bat first on the track which is considered as batting friendly in the nighttime.

Openers Ahmed Shehzad and Nasir Jamshiad set a concrete stand of 75 runs to their side.

Nasir Awais gave the first breakthrough to his side by dismissing Nasir Jamshed for 17, who stayed on wicket for 37 minutes.

A couple of overs later, Awais removed Kamran Akmal and Umar Akmal on two balls.

Zahid Mahmood ended the innings of stormy innings of Shahzad for 78, which he scored of 49 balls, smashing 8 boundaries and three substantial sixes.

Further batsmen Mohammad Yousaf (5) Saad Nasim (7), Imran Ali (0) and Emmad Ali (2) failed to struggle against Lahore bowlers.
