IPL Match Fixing, A C Muthiah on Thursday said the BCCI has become “Business Control for Cricket in India” due to “inefficient management” and sought a full-fledged inquiry into allegations surrounding the Indian Premier League

Sources confirm to NDTV that 27 cricketers are being investigated for match-fixing during IPL 2. In a report submitted to the Finance Ministry, income tax officials discuss allegations of betting involving IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi.

The owners of different IPL teams have expressed their unhappiness with reports of match-fixing; they want clarifications as soon as possible.

Muthiah suspected that allegations of IPL match-fixing and auction rigging running to crores of rupees could be true and demanded a full fledged commission to inquire into the allegations.

He said the members of the board should only think of promoting the sport. “They should not be profit or money oriented. That is what the BCCI rules say.”
