Despite of all the pessimistic efforts from India, Pakistani Abdul Razzaq has flatten his way to participate in the forthcoming Twenty20 Champions League; experienced all-rounder’s English side Leicestershire has qualified for the annual event through getting victory in domestic title. The annual event will be held in different Indian cities from 23 September to 9 October.
Event’s runner-up Somerset as well has qualified for the Champions League; both the English sides will participate in the qualifying stage. Pole “B” of the is consisted of Trinidad and Tobago and Sri Lankan side Honokaa while in the pole “A”, there will be Kolkata Night Riders, Auckland and Somerset.
In group A of the main round Chunti, Mumbai, New South Wales, Cap Cobras and winner of the pole B will be included, while in group A, Bangalore Worriers, Southern Redbacks and pole A winner and third qualifier will be included.
On Saturday night, in the English T20 Friends Cup’s final, Leicestershire beat Somerset by 18 runs. The winner side managed to make a total of 145 runs at the lose of 6 wickets in 20 over. Well Jefferson and Razzaq contributed 35 and 33 runs to the scorecard respectively. Kieran Pollard and Arul Suppiah took 2, 2 wickets each. In response, Somerset could make 127 runs at the loss of 9 wickets.
Pollard has become the first player who qualified from the four teams; his teams Australia, Mumbai and local side Trinidad and Tobago will participate in the event however his will represent Mumbai.
