Gambhir had backpedalled to catch a pull by Kevin Pietersen at mid-on on the second day of the fourth Test at the Oval but voyaged and fell on his head and consequently suffered from a indistinct vision. He could not shown a little improvement in his agonizing condition in the last ten days
