Former Pakistan skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq welcomes the retribution of Sharjah Cricket Stadium as a venue for Pakistan’s forthcoming home series against Sri Lanka which will be followed by England’s tour. As most of the teams seem unwilling to visit Pakistan due to security concerns, former right-handed batsman describes Sharjah as the next best venue away from home.
Inzamam believes that if bilateral series between India and Pakistan will be played at Sharja it will be of great importance. He added that a large number of crowd from both sides lives over here so they will get a chance to witness some great quality game and they will come in large number to see the match.
During the Pakistan-Sri Lanka upcoming series one Test and one ODI will be played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium after nine years.
Inzamam suggests the regularization of bilateral series between India and Pakistan because cricket lover of both the countries are eager to see their teams playing against each other as proved during the semi-final of World Cup 2011.
Regarding the appointment of new coach, after Waqar Younis has stepped down, Inzamam believes that there is no need to hire the services of a foreign player as the coach because Pakistan itself has many talented and experienced former players who can serve as the coach. So, PCB should rely on its own former cricketers.
