T-20 world cup 2010 is starting today. There are 12 teams in 4 groups. The groups are divided as A, B, C and D. the interesting thing of this world cup is the debut of Afghanistan Cricket team in first time in any kind of format. There were an upset recorded couple of days ago when Zimbabwe beats Australia in a warm up match.
Afghanistan has opened its victory record by beating Ireland team in another warm-up match. Batting first Ireland make Ireland made 133-9 in 20 over. In reply Afghanistan reached the score with three balls spare. The coach of Afghanistan said that to attain the status of world cup playing nation is a big achievement for him. Loss or gain comes secondary as he is happy that Afghanistan is in world cup T-20. Captain Nowroz Mangal was also exited after winning the match. They will play their first official match against India. February’s victory in the World Twenty20 qualifiers was the historic moment in Afghanistan and they really enjoy that moment.
Captain said if our team can win a qualifier tournament then we have the capacity to win the world cup also. He added that win and loss doesn’t matter for them as this is still new experience for them.
