Zaheer Khan disappointed by Ajit Agarkar's snub
Zaheer, who is playing Ranji Trophy to restore his form after an injury suspension, makes Mumbai’s opening line-up against Orissa in Cuttack.
He severely criticized selectors’ Chairman Milind Rege and newly appointed coach Kulkarni. He said that the duo is pulling back the Mumbai cricket.
He said that the way in which the whole situation is being handled has made him very disappointed because it is a downright humiliation of a promising player.
”There is no reason to humiliate someone who has done great service to your team,” said Zaheer.
Despite of Rege and Nitin Dalal’s request to stay with the team, upset Agarkar left Cuttack on the morning of the match. He said the thing which made him so upset is that team management hadn’t even bother to inform him that he is not going to be the part of clash against Orissa and was informed about it on the eve of the match.
In response to the query about Zaheer’s reaction Rege told that his comments have hurt him a lot. “Because if anybody questions my ability to select or my judgment, it is an opinion of the other person. But if anybody questions my integrity, I will not accept it,”Chairman continued.
He said that Zaheer shouldn’t have make such a “personal attack” on him adding that he doesn’t know what aggravated to use such harsh tongue.
