
Andy Flower awarded coach of the year
Flower claimed UK Coach of the Year and High-Performance Coach of the Year honors for heading his team to the top of the Test rankings and dominating over Australia in Ashes series.
The other winner of the event includes Malcolm Arnold, who claimed a Lifetime Achievement Award and was recognized for his work with 400m athlete Dai Greene.
The Posthumous Award was presented to former England, Kent and Worcestershire pacer, Graham Dilley.
Dilley, who passed away last month at 52 in London, was honored at the glittering occasion for the effort he made for the promotion of young talent at Surrey, Scotland and Loughborough University.
But the ceremony that held at Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel in Knightsbridge actually belonged to the new UK Coach of the Year.
Since the appointment of Flower as the head coach in 2009, the English team has experienced remarkable successes. The Englishmen won Ashes series, and the home series against wins at home against Sri Lanka and India to snatch top position from Indian in the Test ranking table.
Besides Test, England team enjoyed significant wins in T20 and ODI cricket as well in Flower’s coaching.
