Sourav Ganguly says, changes are inevitable in Indian team
India, on Saturday lost the final Test in Adelaide by 298 runs to record their eight successive Test overseas after they were humiliated in England last year with the same scoreline.
“If the team keeps losing like this, changes are inevitable,” Ganguly told an Indian TV channel.
Ganguly believes that there were occasions during the series when India could have swooped on the chances, but said they squandered opportunities which impinged on the bottom-line.
“If the Indian team had performed better in Melbourne and perhaps have won the match the result of the series could have been different,” said Ganguly, who is currently serving as commentator Down Under.
Ganguly also criticized the captaincy of MS Dhoni saying skipper should be squad’s role modal.
“Dhoni will have to raise his game to remain captain of the team. If the captain surrenders, the team often falls apart.”
Ganguly pulled-up Coach Duncan Fletcher, who has failed despondently on two consecutive abroad tours, saying the Zimbabwean should prove his integrity in the next half year otherwise BCCI should look for his alternative.
