LAHORE: Pakistan Cric
ket Board reconciliation commission has adjourned hearing of former captain Younis Khan’s appeal against penalty till May 15.
PCB counsel Talib Rizvi told media at National Cricket Academy that the counsel of Younis Khan has argued for stay order against the penalty but he pleaded before the commission for settlement of the case instead of staying penalty.
He said the commission on May 15 will hear the appeals of Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved along with the plea of Younis Khan.
Younis Khan’s legal advisor has claimed that no player and official interviewed by the inquiry committee of the Pakistan Cricket Board had blamed the former captain for the team’s problems in recent times.
Ahmed Qayyum said he was surprised on what basis his client had been banned indefinitely on the recommendations of the inquiry committee because nobody had spoken against him.
He said the details of allegations against Younis Khan were issued to media before his client received the chargesheet. The counsel called the act a conspiracy of media trial of his client. The team management and players had said nothing against my client but the inquiry committee has itself involved Younis Khan in Pakistan debacle in Australia, the lawyer added.
The appeals judge appointed by PCB to hear the appeals of the six cricketers banned or fined by the Board will now hold hearing on May 15.
