According to information Pakistani spin bowler Danish Kaneria has been arrested. He was arrested due to some allegations of match fixing. Afterwards he has been released on bail up to 15th September. Essex police will investigate 29 year old Danish Kaneria. He is assumed to be involved in match fixing spot-fixing in Essex’s Pro40 match against Durham last September.  He will be investigated by the police regarding this matter.

Essex player are supporting police and providing them with every kind of help needed by them. According to sources he was due to come to Pakistan but his return was delayed. Danish Kaneria said that he has nothing to do with match fixing and he is not involved in it. He further said that he played for Pakistan’s team and he never thought of match fixing.

He has played 58 test matches for Pakistan and he is specialist leg spinner for Pakistan. According to Essex police  they have started investigations in March and despite of Danish Kaneria bail they will investigate him. Danish also give full indication to cooperate with police.

The allegations on a player of a team will make hard for other players as tension in dressing room affects other players. So far no action has taken by PCB regarding this matter.
