South Africa won 1st Test Match from West Indies1st Test match between South Africa and West Indies was played at Port of Spain. South Africa won the match by 163 runs. After winning the toss SA elected to bat and they scored 352 by the help of three half centuries from AB de Villiers, AG Prince and MV Boucher. SJ Benn from WI took 5 wickets and he was the most successful bowler of first inning.

WI opened the chase poorly and they all out after making 102 runs in 47.1 over. N Deonarine was top scorer with 29 runs. DW Steyn took 5 wickets and M Morkel took 4 wickets for SA.

GC Smith didn’t enforce follow on and he open the seconf inning for SA and scored 90 runs. SA declared their 2nd inning after making 206 runs and their 6 wickets left. MV Boucher, PL Harris, M Morkel, DW Steyn and LL Tsotsobe didn’t bat for SA.

SJ Benn took three wickets. Like Smith, CH Gayle opened the inning well for WI and he made 73 runs. DJ Bravo made 49 runs and no other batsmen were able to make good score. WI was all out after making 293 runs. DW Steyn took 3 wickets in 2nd inning.
