Shakib Al Hasan the former Bangladeshi captain has been removed and Mashrafe Mortaza has been appointed as new captain. Mashrafe Mortaza is fast bowler for Bangladesh and it is expected that he will handle the burden of captaincy.

Tours of England, Ireland and Scotland are approaching so it is expected to have good experience for the new captain before the world cup. 3 One-day internationals against England will be played by Bangladesh and are due to play three and two each against Ireland and Scotland on the tour.

Bangladesh Cricket Board official Enayat Hossain Siraj said that Shakib will now assist Mortaza. He was previously appointed as captain for West Indies tour but he was suffering from injury. According to sources the decision is made for Shakib so that he will be able to concentrate on his performance.

Many former cricketers declared it a strange decision for the cricket as it was made just before the England tour. Jamie Siddons from Australia will perform as coach of team and the team announced for England tour is Mashrafe Mortaza (captain), Shakib Al Hasan, Imrul Kayes, Jahurul Islam, Junaid Siddique, Abdur Razzak, Syed Rasel, Rubel Hossain, Shafiul Islam, Nazmul Hossain , Mushfiqur Rahim, Tamim Iqbal, Raqibul Hasan, Faisal Hossain and Mohammad Mahmudullah.
