First test at Lords cricket ground has been won by Australia by 150 runs. Pakistan’s batting collapse on the forth day and they all out after making 289 runs. This defeat is 13th in a row to Pakistan in last 5 years. By defeating Pakistan Australia set a record of 13 win in a row against other test playing nation. Previous record was of Sri Lanka against Bangladesh of 12 wins.

The main reason behind the Pakistan batting collapse was part time bowler MJ North. He was introduced to attack for few over. He took wicket on the first ball of his spell and it then continued taking wickets. He took 6 wickets for Australia.

Pakistan’s batsmen showed lack of temperament and they could not stay on the wicket and lost the match by 150 runs. Salman Butt was the man who showed some resilience to Australian bowlers. Captain Shahid Afridi one again failed to score and got out after making just 2 runs.

Australia made 253 in first inning and in reply Pakistan all out after scoring 148 runs. Australia batted well in 2nd inning and scored 334 runs and giving Pakistan 440 runs target to win match. Pakistan collapse and all out at 289 and got defeated by 150 runs. Salman Butt was declared Pakistan’s man of the match and SM Katich was announced Australian man of the match.
