After a terrible defeat by Pakistan against Australia Captain Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from Test cricket. After his retirement, Vice Captain Salman Butt will now lead Pakistan team in the remaining test matches of Pakistan in the tour.
Pakistan is scheduled to play 1 test match against Australia and four test matches against England. Pakistan tour manager said that Salman Butt will be the new Captain of Pakistan in the 2nd test match against Australia.
2nd test will be played next week at Headingley and it is also said by the manager that Afridi is facing problem of side strain so he will not be a part of 2nd Test Match starting from Wednesday.
On Friday Shahid Afridi announced his retirement when he got defeated by Australia by 150 runs. He said that he doesn’t have the temperament of playing test matches so he is deciding to retire from test match cricket.
First test match’s Pakistani man of the match Salman butt will be the captain of Pakistan side with Kamran Akmal with additional services of vice captain. Afridi favored Salman butt and said that he Is competent player and has all the maturity to play as a captain of Pakistan team.
