Sri Lanka Tour opener abandoned on Day 1; 7th ODI doubtful to start!

Kumar SangakkaraThe first day’s play of Sri Lanka’s 3-day warm-up match against Board President’s XI has been abandoned due to persistent rain in Mumbai. The match which was scheduled to start this morning at the Bandra Kurla Complex hasn’t even seen a toss happenning.

The Sri Lankans are led by Kumar Sangakkara while the Board President’s team which comprises of only youngsters is led by Rohit Sharma. The Lankans play the first Test match from the 16th at Ahmedabad.

Mumbai this afternoon is supposed to host the 7th and final ODI between India and Australia as well, this match is in the newly built DY Patil Stadium and its difficult to see it happen! The seventh ODI is scheduled to begin at 2:30 in the afternoon.
