Yusuf replaces Younis as Test Captain

By BV Swagath on Wednesday, 11th November 2009

Mohammad Yousuf has been named as the Pakistan Test CaptainYounis Khan after the debacle defeat in the 3-ODI Series Cool and Cool Cup at Abu Dhabi has opted out of the upcoming Test Series in New Zealand. The PCB has appointed senior batsman Mohammad Yousuf as the Skipper and named Wicket Keeper Kamran Akmal as his deputy. It is learnt that Younis Khan had asked the board for a rest and according to the PCB, it had nothing to do with the 1-2 defeat against New Zealand.

Younis Khan is under tremendous pressure with his place in the team questioned because of his poor form of late. Younis had failed with the bat in all the three ODIs in Abu Dhabi and some of his decisions off the field were hard to understand.
