India has leveled the series by 1-1 after winning the third and final test match against Sri Lanka. India was one down in the series after losing the first test match. Second test was a draw and third was won by India. India was in strong position when the got 7 Sri Lankan wickets below 100 runs but good partnership between TT Samaraweera and BAW Mendis helped Sri Lanaka in setting good target to India.

India got 257 runs target to win the test match and they achieve the target after loosing 5 wickets. India winning the third and final test match by 5 wickets and level the series. VVS Laxman scored 103 runs and his century took India to famous victory. SR Tendulkar scored another half century and got out at 54. SK Raina remained not out at 41.

S Randiv took 5 wickets but could not stop India from winning. He also took 4 wickets in the first inning so total 9 wickets for him in the match. No other Sri Lankan Bowler could able to make any Indian Batsmen out. By Winning this test match India managed to secure its top ranking.
