The first ODI between Pakistan and England is restricted to 41 over. Pakistan after winning the toss elected to field first. Captain Shahid Afridi wanted to take full advantage of conditions as conditions were favorable for the bowlers. Muhammad Irfan is new bowler included in Pakistan side and he is of very good height. He was gone for 15 runs in his first over.

England batted well and sets 275 runs target for Pakistan to win the match. Openers provided 78 runs stand to the inning. SM Davies played a lovely inning of 87 runs in just 67 balls. He hit 13 fours in his inning. IJL Trott made 69 runs from England side and after losing just 6 wickets they scored 274 runs in 41 over.

Saeed Ajmal from Pakistan side bowled really well and he took 4 wickets in his 9 over. He gave away 58 runs. Shoaib Akhtar was the most economical bowler as he just gave 28 runs in his 8 over. He was looking very good in his bowling. Pakistan team now has to bat well if they really wants to win the contest as win at this point will definitely help Pakistan in future matches. They just need to stay on wickets and play according to merit of ball.
