Former Pakistani test team captain Salman Butt has filed an appeal against the decision of suspension of ICC. Salman Butt together with two other Pakistani players was suspended by ICC for the allegation of spot fixing. On Tuesday evening the appeal was filed from his side. He was facing an allegation of heading the circle in spot fixing. Salman Butt completely denied and said that he was not involved in spot fixing.
After the suspension of three players they filed answer to the suspension order and no Salman Butt has taken an initiative and files a petition to ICC. The ICC chief executive, Haroon Lorgat said that they have received an appeal from Salman Butt only and the appeals from other players are yet to receive. He added that the appeal will be consider for hearing.
Under the ICC’s anti-corruption code of conduct the appeal will be heard. Salman Butt is very confident about his appeal and after investigation so far no evidence has been found by the investigation authorities. The appeal will be heard on the basis that whether to continue the provisional suspension or undo that suspension. The hearing of suspension should be heard with in 3 months of suspension as according to ICC code of conduct.
