World record holder of most wickets in ODI and test match cricket Muralitharan is backed in Sri Lankan team for series against Australia. Sri Lanka has been searching for top combination before 2011 world cup which will start in February. Muralitharan had completed 800 wickets in the last test match of his career. That was very proud moment for whole nation and they were presenting their well wishes to world class bowler.
He has been retired from test match cricket but still available for ODI and T-20’s. He is selected in 16 men squad for series against Australia. Five seamer has been included in the squad and if he play his role then it will be great combination for Sri Lankan team.
16 men squad for Sri Lanka includes: Kumar Sangakkara , Chamara Silva, Jeevan Mendis, Angelo Mathews (subject to fitness, Thilina Kandamby on standby), Chamara Kapugedara, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Thisara Perera, Mahela Jayawardene , Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Lasith Malinga, Nuwan Kulasekera, Suraj Randiv, Dammika Prasad and Dinesh Chandimal.
Sri Lanka will play one T-20 match and three ODI’s during its tour to Australia. It is hope that Australia and Sri Lanka series will give both teams practice before world cup.
