Fifth day of the fist test match belongs to Indian middle order batsman VVS Laxman. He was the only obstacle between win and Australian team. He snatches the victory from Australian Jaws. Australia was in good position last night when they took 4 Indian wickets for just 55 runs. Today Australian work on the same lines and got 8th Indian wicket at 124 runs. Harbajan Singh was the 8th man dismissed. At that time Australian victory was certain.

VVS Laxman who already had great record against Australian batted well and aggressively and hurdled Australian victory. He along with Ishant Sharma batted well and took India close to victory. Both of them involved in 81 run partnership for the ninth wicket. I Sharma got LBW when Indian total was 205 runs. VVS Stayed on the wicket and achieved the total to get victory for India.

Laxman remained not out on 73 runs and he took 79 balls to score these runs. Before that Australian were all out on 192 runs in the second inning after scoring 87 runs for the first wicket. It is very famous victory for India as they won the match which was nearly slipped from their hands.
