Darren Sammy replaced Chris Gayle as captain for West Indies side. Bredan Nash was named as vice captain of team. The team has been announced by West Indies board for tour of Sri Lanka in November. The team announced includes Darren Sammy , Brendan Nash, Chris Gayle, Adrian Barath, Carlton Baugh (wk), Sulieman Benn, Darren Bravo, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Nelon Pascal, Kemar Roach, Andre Russell, Shane Shillingford, Devon Smith and Devon Thomas .

There was great dispute amongst the players and the board as the players was not ready to sign the contract which limited their activity to West Indies Board. The contract restricted the player that they should ever be available to play cricket for West Indies first. News captain said that he will try his level best to gather team. He added that it has been 6 years for him for playing for West Indies and he has strong gathering with players.

He showed his full commitment to play good cricket against Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka. The board’s CEO, Ernest Hilaire thanked former captain Chris Gayle for his services to West Indies. He said that Gayle was the man, who decided to step up and lead from the front for his team in difficult time. He added that now its time to rebuild the team.
