After winning the toss SA decided to bat first in the 2nd ODI at Abu Dhabi cricket ground. This is the first time South Africa won the toss in the four contests so far. After losing an early wicket of Peterson, SA came back in the game strongly. HM Amla and CA Ingram 84 runs in the 2nd wicket partnership and provide the foundation of big score.

Pakistan team looking to come back in the game could not control the flow of runs and CA Ingram completed his century. He made 100 runs and got out. In the last 10 over SA could not capitalize and also not able to score much runs. The situation was good for them as they were 216/3 at the start of 41st over. They were able to score 70 runs in last 10 over and lose 5 wickets.

Shoaib Akhtar was little expensive as he gave away 57 runs in his 10 over. Wahab Riaz and Shahid Afridi got 2 wickets each. Wahab remained the most economical bowler as he went for only 43 runs in his 10 over. Pakistan now needs good batting to chase this big total. The highest runs chase for Pakistan in this ground was 296/6 back in 2008.
