Sri Lankans were very good throughout the series but in the third ODI against Australia they collapse. Sri Lankans were bundled out on 115 runs. It was great bowling display from Australian and they didn’t allow batsmen to score runs. In the Sri Lankan inning only two batsmen entered in the double figure.
Extra runs total also entered in the double figure. There were 14 wide balls in the Australian bowling. WU Tharanga scored 28 runs on 53 balls. The wickets trembled around him but he was not able to do any thing. Three big guns TM Dilshan, KC Sangakkara and Jayawardene failed to score. They collectively scored only 1 runs. This was the biggest dent to the inning.
LPC Silva scored 33 runs on 72 balls. He was the highest run scorer for Sri Lankans. CJ McKay was the pick of the bowlers as he took 5 wickets. He opened the bowling for Australia and get through the Sri Lankan batting line. MA Starc also bowled well and took 4 wickets. Theses two bowlers really destroyed Sri Lankan. Now Australia is requiring 116 runs to avoid the worst losing streak. R Ponting is not playing the game and MJ Clarke is captain of Australian team. He surely is very happy with Australia’s performance.
