
ICC has set 19th December as the last date for the announcement of 30 players name as preliminary world cup squad. In the meeting held for the decision of players name at Lahore there was no conclusion of the meeting and the meeting ended without announcement of any name.
Sources said that there are some players who are not getting clearance from PCB. PCB has asked ICC for the clearance of certain players so that they can play in world cup. According to sources an application has been filed by PCB seeking clearance of name of players.
There is a lot of pressure on PCB regarding Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal, Damish Kaneria and Rana Naveed ul Hassan. PCB is seeking ICC’s clearance regarding these players and asked them that player should be allowed to play until anything wrong proved to them.
The extension has also applied by PCB regarding the announcement of names of players. PCB will get extension for the announcement of initial players’ names as it is not a big matter. PCB sources said that Pakistan Cricket Board is worried about the future of players who give a lot to Pakistan cricket. National selector Muhammad Illyas declared players as they are like PCB’s children so PCB has to take care of them.
