The PCB integrity committee will take the final decision about the future of the former captain Shoaib Malik, wicket keeper Kamran Akmal, and leg spinner Danish Kaneria. The integrity committee will discuss the matter of including the mentioned players in the ODI series against New Zealand and in initial squad of world cup. All three players have submitted the details of their income sources, total income, property and bank balance.

Shoaib and Kamran along with leg-spinner Kaneria will appear before PCB integrity committee at the PCB headquarters in which the committee will decide whether to clear them for national duty. If all the summoned players will satisfy the integrity committee about their foreign and national accounts then their name can be added in the final squad for the Mega event going to be start from 19 February. It is to be remembered that ICC told their reservations to PCB about the former captain and the wicket keeper. Board officials have confirmed that the three players on a blacklist for possible links with match-fixers. PCB has asked for the permission from the ICC to add the names of these three players in the World Cup squad.

The Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board Ijaz Butt, will chair the meeting of the integrity committee. The integrity Committee told that it should take a decision on the issue because the PCB wants to finalize Pakistan’s 30-player preliminary squad for Mega event as soon as possible. All the other teams have sent the list of preliminary squad to ICC. Pakistan also had to announce the initial squad for the World Cup but PCB asked for the clearance of Shoaib, Kamran and Kaneria due to this reason ICC extends the date for sending their 30-player list to 5 January.

On the other hand the meeting of selection committee is also going to be held today in Lahore, under the leadership of Chief selector Mohsin Khan. The selection committee will finalize the names of players for ODI series and World Cup 2011. The selection committee will also discuss the unsatisfied performance of Pakistan cricket team in the T20 series. If we look at these matters including spot fixing scandal, Pakistan team seems in serous crises now-a-days. Former skippers. Coach and captain accepted that Pakistani team is not fully prepared for the world cup as compared to other big teams. The one of the major reason of dull performance of green shirts in T20 series against black shirts can be the unavailability of some senior players. In this prospect Pakistan team needs the clarification of these three players and the result of spot-fixing scandal.
