Yuvraj Singh out of Sri Lanka one-dayers

By Watch Live Cricket on Thursday, 24th December 2009

NEW DELHI : India batsman Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of the remaining two one-day internationals against Sri Lanka due to a finger injury.

“Due to the finger injury sustained earlier, Yuvraj has been advised rest and therefore he will not play in the fourth and fifth matches against Sri Lanka,” Indian cricket board secretary N. Srinivasan said in a statement.

Yuvraj, with 7,249 runs and 78 wickets in 245 one-dayers, suffered the injury during the second and final Twenty20 match against the visitors early this month.

He also missed the first two games of the ongoing five-match series before returning for the third in Cuttack on Monday.

India lead the series 2-1 following their seven-wicket win in the last match. The fourth one-dayer will be played in Kolkata on Thursday and the last in Delhi on Sunday.
