Bangladesh Cricket Board has announced the captain for the 2011 and Shakib remains the captain of Bangladesh team in 2011. He will have world cup 2011 as his first assignment in 2011. Opening batsman Tamim Iqbal will be the vice captain of the team. He will assist the captain in 2011. Both captain and vice captain is fully committed to do well in world cup 2011.

There was shuffling between Mortaza and Shakib for the captaincy but the injury caused to Mortaza has left Bangladesh with the only choice that is Shakib. Mortaza is suffering fro Knee injury once again. He came back from injury after a surgery but he is again having the same problem.

Tamim Iqbal was also out from the team after the hand injury but he again come back to the team and took a role of vice captain of the Bangladeshi team. Bangladesh team performed well specially at the end of 2010 and they took 2 series victories. They performed well and now looking towards the world cup 2011 which will be their next and first assignment for 2011.

Bangladesh got clean sweep victory against New Zealand and after that they won the series against Zimbabwe after losing the first ODI. The performance has boast up their confidence level and they are looking towards the mega event.
