ICC tribunal has deferred the decision of the hearing of three Pakistani cricketers till 5th February. The head of the tribunal M Beloff said that the investigations are still going on and deferred the case till February. Former Pakistani captain Salman Butt is facing the investigations against fixing in the Oval test match.
The test match was won by Pakistan by four wickets but there were some charges against these cricketers regarding fixing. ICC has withdrawn all charges against the players except for the charges against Mr. Butt.
There are allegations that they were planned to do no-balls in the Oval test but latter it was cancelled. ICC withdrawn its allegation on players but the allegation on Salman Butt that he play a maiden over in the Oval test still stands.
The lawyer of Muhammad Asif was happy that his client has been acquitted from all the charges regarding the fixing in the Oval test match.
M Beloff didn’t provide the details of the matter which is under investigation. He just said that investigations are under process so verdict is deferred. ICC Lawyers dropped the allegations regarding the Oval test match and demanded the verdict but tribunal has deferred the hearing decision. During the hearing Salman Butt had very tough time as he was questioned by his lawyer and the lawyers of ICC along with Asif and Amir’s lawyer.
