After losing the test series against Pakistan team, New Zealand Captain Dannial Vettori has quitted from the test captaincy. Wellington test match was the last test match for him as a captain. New Zealand has lost the test match series by 1-0. First test match was won by Pakistan and 2nd match has been drawn.
Pakistan could have easily won the match but due to slow batting they were not able to get the target. 274 runs were required by Pakistani team but the scored only 226 runs.
Dannial Vetorri said that he has not made the decision of quitting after a current bad form of NZ side. He said that he had made this decision three and half years ago. He also intended to finish ODI career after the world cup.
Vetorri added that he love to play test cricket and want to achieve more in it. He said that it is part of international cricket and he loved it. He clearly said that he is not intending to stay away from cricket.
He took over the captaincy after the retirement of Fleming and since then he captained the team for 32 times. Team has won six test matches under his captaincy.
