Sri Lankan Cricket Board has named the same team against West Indies which will play in the world cup. Sri Lankan Cricket Board was the first to announce the name their national team for the world cup. They stick with same team that will represent them on world cup. Many teams are giving rest to their players as they want them to be fit for the world cup.
Team announce for the series against West Indies includes Kumar Sangakkara , Mahela Jayawardene, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Thilan Samaraweera, Chamara Silva, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Thisara Perera, Nuwan Kulasekara, Lasith Malinga, Dilhara Fernando, Muttiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis and Rangana Herath.
Kumar Sangakkara will be the captain for the team and he is also performing well as captain and batsman for the team. There will be three ODI’s between both team and they will play all these matches in the SSC in Colombo.
The series was scheduled for the last month but due to bad weather conditions it was postponed. The first match will be played on 31st January and the last match will be played on 6th February. Both teams will have good practice before the world cup. World cup will start from 5th February 2011.
