Pakistan has axed coach Intikhab Alam and wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal from its 14-man side announced for two Twenty20 against England. Shoaib Malik retained the captain of the side in absence of Shahid Afridi.
Selectors still have the sour feelings of wicketkeeper Akmal’s poor performance in Sydney test in Australia tour and dropped him from Pakistan’s Twenty20 squad to take on England in Dubai on February 19-20.
Chairman,Pakistan Cricket Board, Ijaz Butt chaired the selection committee meeting in the absence of chief selector Iqbal Qasim who had earlier resigned after taking responsibility of Pakistan’s whitewash in three test and five one day internationals.
