Sri Lankan Cricket Board has to bear a loss due to postponing of West Indies series. The series was originally schedule in December but after the bad weather affected the test series it was decided that the West Indies series will be played at the end of January. The series is now starting from 31st December.
According to reports SLC will lose US$125,000 for the delay in the series. The original series was of five matches but now it has been reduced to three matches. SLC is facing the problems with broadcasting issues. After consulting with legal advisors they came to know that the current tour will be consider as separate tour.
Due to broadcasting issue, now these matches will not be presented to international viewers. Sri Lanka’s national television station Rupavahini will only broad cast these matches. According to original plan the matches was scheduled to play on the world cup venues but according to ICC rule no international match could be conducted on the world cup venue now theses matches will be played at Colombo.
Sri Lankan captain K Sangakkara said that they will play the match with world cup preparations in mind and they are mentally prepared to play in all conditions.
