ICC has announced the new venue for the world cup match between India and England. The match was previously Schedule at Eden Gardens but due to delay in construction work ICC had suspended the venue to conduct the match. The match is schedule to hold on 27th February. Now Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore will host the match.
ICC Chief Executive Haroon Lorgat said that now the venue for the world cup match is certain. He added that now confusion regarding the match is over. Eden Garden was suspended to conduct the match of 27th February as there was still pending work in the stadium.
ICC has also issued a list of pending work at the stadium and according to them it is not possible to conduct the match due to pending work. There were three match schedules for Kolkata and no ICC inspection team will visit the ground and will decide about the matches.
BCCI had also requested ICC to hold the match at Eden Gardens after they provide surety to complete the ground works before the world cup. Bangalore stadium was the first priority for Indian Cricket Board after Eden Garden was disallowed to host the match. It was very bad for BCCI that their main ground was rejected due to pending works.
