Australian all-rounder Shane Watson is ready to open the inning for Australia. He batted at number 7 positions in the last world cup. Openers Hyden and Gilcrist were very good at their positions. After they are retired from international cricket Watson is proved as good opening batsman.

Watson said that while batting at the opening position there are great responsibility on player. He has to provide platform to the team and the start provided by the openers matters in the game. He said that he is really looking forward to opening position and will do his best to play well as opener.

Andy Flower said that Watson is playing well as opener and he scored runs at this position. His good performance makes him the automatic choice for this position.

Watson is very much satisfied with the team’s preparations and said that preparations are going well for them as they are getting use to Indian conditions. Australian team hasn’t lost any world cup game since 1999 and they will play their first match against Zimbabwe on Monday.

Watson said that they are different team from 2007 world cup. He said that every team in the world cup is facing pressure and there is no different with Australian team.
