Australian Captain R Ponting said that he want his openers to score runs at the top. In this world cup high score is very important to win the match. He wants his openers to provide team with good start. He wants Haddin not to waste his wicket and provide Australia with good start. Watson is the other opening partner with him who is consistently doing well for Australia.

Australia will play their first game against Zimbabwe and captain wants the team to get flying start of the world cup. They are very positive for the world cup and Ricky Ponting is eyeing on his world cup hat-trick.

He said that his injured finger is not disturbing him and he gets his form back with couple of half centuries in warm up games. Ponting said that if top order score good runs then it provide foundation to whole team. 30 or 50 runs don’t help in winning games.

He added that openers should score runs quickly then he himself with M Clarke will get time to settle in and score runs for the team. Only the team effort can help them in winning the game. He said that he is felling better with his finger and it will not matter in the game against Zimbabwe.
