Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi was much exited after the match win against Sri Lanka. He gave match winning performance to Pakistan. Afridi is also named as the man of the match. This is the first big match between both teams in the world cup 2011.

Afridi also completed his 300 wickets in the world of cricket. He becomes the 11 cricketer to pick up more then 300 wickets. Shahid Afridi also showed brilliant captaincy during the match. He bowled well in the middle of the inning and picked up 4 important wickets. He just gave away 34 runs in his 10 over and also restricted Sri Lankan from scoring runs freely.

In the post match presentation Afridi said that its team effort that bring victory for them. He added that it is signal for rest of the teams that Pakistan will come harder to them. He added that team will come harder and harder after every game they played.

Afridi also scored 16 runs and fielded very well. He took the first catch of Tharanga of the bowling of Hafeez. He also gave second last over to Muhammad Hafeez who bowled it well till the last ball. Pakistan won by 11 runs and they have 2 victories in the world cup.
