Indian captain MS Dhoni showed some concerns about the UDRS after the incident of appeal against Ian Bell. Dhoni said that he does not understand that why batsman was not given out when it shown on big screen that he was hit by bowl on pad and bowl was going to hit middle stump. He added that batsman started to walk back but still was not given out.
ICC general manager Dave Richardson said that MS Dhoni make comment about the UDRS after the tie game against England. BCCI backed their captain and they issued a statement in which they stated that Richardson has no right to make such statements against Mr. Dhoni and he should be restricted to issue such comments.
Dave Richardson commented that most of the times players remain unaware of the rule and MS Dhoni might unaware of the bundle of rules with UDRS. He added that if Dhoni was aware of the rules then he might accept the decision.
BCCI said in the statement that they are continuously opposing the system and the system is exposed in the world cup. They also said that reliability of the technology might not be fully 100% as there might be some errors in it. On field umpire should make the wise decisions for which he stands on the field.
