South Africa has set the target of 285 runs for Bangladesh in the 39th ODI of ICC World Cup 2011, at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur. Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis and Faf du Plessis scored half centuries.
According to details South African captain Graeme Smith won the toss and elected to bat first. Hashim Amla and Smith took a bit slow but confident start. Both players built up the partnership of 98 runs in the opening stand. On the individual score of 45 Smith was stumped by wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim on the ball of Mahmudullah. He played 68 balls for this score. The innings of Amla was finished by Abdur Razzak. His score was 51.
The hero of pervious match, JP Duminy turned back to pavilion after scoring 17 runs this time. The fourth wicket of Proteas fell on the total of 223, when well-set Jacques Kallis was caught and bowled by Saqibul Hasan. Morne van Wyk bowled out for just 5 runs by the same bowler. Soon after, Faf du Plessis was taken by Rubel. He scored 52 runs after facing same number of balls. Johan Botha goes runout on the first ball of last over. At the end of limited number of overs, Proteas posted the total of 284/8 on the scoreboard. Robin Peterson was notout on 22. Rubel Hossain was the most prominent home bowler with 3 wickets.
