It has learnt reliably that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in seek of inexpensive venues for the ‘home series’ against South Africa. Apart from United Arab Emirates (UAE), Malaysia, Sri Lanka are the other options lined-up for the full series which is scheduled for October-November.

Pakistan is also exploring the possibility of playing international cricket in United States United States but the option likely to be discarded due to weather condition during respective the time slot.
South Africa had refused to play Pakistan in the country instead wanted to play the series on their grounds but the proposal was turned down by PCB because it wasn’t cost effective instead offered to play a series at any other neutral venue.
Pakistan has been forced to play their home series away from the home as several teams were reluctant to tour the country due to safely and security concerns and with the terrorist ambush on the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore in March last year further isolated Pakistan for the international cricket activities.
In recent two years Pakistan had played their home series against West Indies, Australia, New Zealand and England in UAE. Interestingly all the series, which had been played were only comprised of One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals and teams hardly stayed for fifteen days.
But South Africa is scheduled to play Pakistan a series of three-Test matches, five ODIs and two-T20I – which took atleast 40 days and PCB had never hosted a full series at the neutral venue. “Meanwhile PCB is calculating the cost, which is more feasible to host full series (against South Africa),” a source said.
