After New Zealand got defeated from Sri Lanka it is confirmed that there will be two Asian teams in the world cup 2011 final match. Sri Lanka will face the winner of 2^nd semi final that will be played between Pakistan and India. The craze of Pakistan Vs India semi final is on its peak.

New Zealand batted first and they set 218 runs target for the Sri Lanka team. New Zealand team collapsed at the end of their inning. Styris remained the top scorer with 57 runs.

The start of the Sri Lankan inning was good and they scored 160 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.  Four wickets with in space of 25 runs made the match interesting and it was looking a balance match. Samaraweera and Matthews played well and got the victory for their team. Sri Lanka won the quarter final by 5 wickets.

In 2007 final Sri Lanka lost the match by 33 runs as the match was affected by the rain. In 2011 world cup they had only one defeat against their name and that is against Pakistan. Pakistan has defeated Sri Lanka by 11 runs in the group match. One thing is sure that there will be two Asian teams in the world cup 2011 and the world cup is coming to Asia. Sri Lanka is the favorite Asian team for the world cup 2011.
