New Zealand captain Denial Vettori has accepted the defeat against New Zealand in the semi final boldly and said that it was not good performance from the New Zealand batsmen. Vettori was not happy on the field when they were losing the game. After the match when he was called up for post match interview he came after drying his eyes.
It was the sixth time that New Zealand got defeated in the semi final. They never reached the final of world cup. Vettori humbly said that he cant said any thing about the team’s performance. He added that they came short in performance.
Vettori also mention the fall of wickets at the end of the inning and last 6 wickets fell for 25 runs. The fall of wickets had dented the Kiwis. There were four wickets fell for just 4 runs. The bad batting performance let them 20 to 30 runs short of their target.
Vettori also lead the team in defending the small total against South Africa and won the quarter final match. Vettori also mentioned the 120 runs partnership of Dilshan and Sangakkara. The match came to level when Sri Lanka lost 5 wickets but then after that Samaraweera and Mathews took victory for Sri Lanka.
Vettori said that he is realistic and he is happy that they have reached semi final.
