Sri Lankan captain Kumara Sangakkara has appreciated the performance of middle batting order. He praised the performance and said that it was the temperament of middle order that had saved them in the semi final. Sangakkara said that the pressure of semi final was high but the batsmen respond in the right way.
Sangakkara also appreciated the way Samaraweera and Mathews respond later in the inning. Sri Lanka had lost 5 wickets for 185 runs and both these batsmen took them to victory with their determination.
Sangakkara said that they were going good and were 160 for 1 but suddenly lost 4 wickets for 25 runs. Sangakkara admitted that the middle order has potential and he was having full faith in them and they prove it right.
So far in the world cup 2011 Sri Lankan middle order is not tested a lot so it was not clear that how they response in the tense situation. Sangakkara said that middle order won the match for them. He added that he is happy with the way they perform for the team.
Sangakkara is now looking to move to the final match and it will be either against Pakistan or India. 2nd semi final will clear the name of 2nd Asian team in the world cup 2011 final.
