Johnson, Styris Fined For ConfrontationDUBAI: Australia’s Mitchell Johnson and New Zealand’s Scott Styris have been fined after they were involved in an on-field physical confrontation during a one-day international.

Johnson, who was bowling, and batsman Styris had a verbal exchange during New Zealand’s innings in Wednesday’s match before the Australian paceman approached the Kiwi, the two appearing to make contact with their heads.

The International Cricket Council announced Wednesday that Johnson had been fined 60 per cent of his match fee and Styris 15 per cent. Match referee Ranjan Madugalle said both players had crossed the line of what was acceptable behaviour.

Styris scored 49 not out as New Zealand won the game by two wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
