In the fifth ODI against West Indies Pakistan had decided to bat first and it was taken as the right decision by the commentators. They said that it was the right decision by the Pakistani captain. Shahid Afridi was looking confident to score runs on the good batting track. The decision was not looking good after Pakistan started the batting.
Pakistan lost their fist wicket at the score of 16 runs. Muhammad Hafeez opened the inning with his new partner Taufeeq Umar. Hafeez batted well and hold the end and scored half century. He was going nicely but falls out in the 29th over after scoring 55 runs. All hopes of Pakistani fans ended after his dismissal. Hafeez also hit six fours. He provides stability to score but after he fell out on 93 run Pakistan collapsed on 139 runs.
There was some poor batting from Pakistan side and they were not able to control the inning. No batsman able to control the inning and consequently all got out on 139 runs. Umar Akmal was the other batsman who scored 24 runs. Asad Shafiq was dropped for today’s match. Usman Salahudin was provided with a chance but he failed to score runs and got out after 5 runs.
Wicket keeper Muhammad Salman was not out batsman and he scored 19 runs. Pakistan is having minimum chances of winning the last match. It is very difficult to stop West Indies from reaching such a small total. R Rampaul took 4 important wickets while Sammy took three wickets. West Indies seamers have done the job for the team. It is now all depend upon their batsman to get the win in last encounter.
